I have no doubt that aging is a great equalizer. No one can escape it unless you’re J-Lo, William Shatner, or Dracula. It’s impossible to ignore the cumulative impact of life’s daily encounters, the lessons learned, the trials faced, and the moments of joy and sorrow. Sooner or later, we’ll all stand before a mirror, uncertain of what we’ll see.
If only we strive to make the most of our circumstances, share smiles, and help one another, our legacy, whether grand or unassuming, -whether we exit gloriously with drumroll and fanfare, or hurriedly and uneventfully by some stinky back door- will be more meaningful if we’re not an A-hole. Consider the environmental footprint we’re leaving: CO2 emissions and plastic islands in the oceans. What would Mother Nature say if she could speak our language?
Watching my children grow and acknowledging my impermanence are my greatest motivators. Inspiration abounds in the little things often overlooked due to life’s distractions. In the grand tapestry of existence, it’s a wonder we’re here at all. Do you believe in miracles?
Catch you on the next post!
